It is often striking how similar vintages can be on both sides of the globe. Last year saw an abundant harvest with great quality in the South of France. It was a joy working there for then7th year in a row and 11th year all together.

While the 2018 vintagewas marked by low yields, the 2017 vintage struggled with high incidence of powdery mildew and wet weather during veraison.

Of course with the climate of the Minervois and Corbiere regions, a hot dry year also means very high alcohols which may not contribute to the elegance of the wines.
